The Earth's Memorial Raku Urn is handcrafted by a process inspired by the tradition of Japanese Raku pottery. To create raku pottery, a ceramic urn is heated in a kiln until it reaches 2000 degrees. It is then plunged into a pit of wood shavings which ignites instantly. The urn smolders overnight to create radiant flashes of color. Once cooled, each urn is topped with a ceramic cap that incorporates sticks and stones.
Due to the nature of the creation process, no two Raku urns are exactly alike. This makes each the perfect one-of-a-kind memorial. Because each urn is handmade and fired individually, there are variations and imperfections in the color which make the urn truly unique. The bottom of the urn is also signed by person who created it.
- Size: 8.0" x 8.5" x 8.5".
- Capacity: 190 cubic inches (up to 190 pounds before cremation). The cap rests on top of the opening. We recommend that you glue the cap to create a permanent seal.

These urns are shipped directly from a warehouse, so, unfortunately, we cannot choose an individual piece. However, we understand that this is a special, once in a lifetime purchase and will accept returns (only if the urn is unused) for any reason within 7 days of receipt. Please see our return policy for full details.
